2025 Range Day

Saturday June 07 2025 – 10 am to 3 pm

Range Day is an unofficial national event hosted by independent shooting clubs to educate people about the enjoyment and safety of firearm sports. WLSA being a multi-discipline association, we also had a hands on archery set up that was hosted and well staffed by the Cariboo Archers. Though not all ranges participate in the National Range Day event, the majority of the Cariboo/Chilcotin does. National Range Day is hosted on the first Saturday in June and there is a website, (National Range Day) that can be checked for one in your area in the future.

Firstly lets start out acknowledging the fine work done by Caroline Chupa, the director in responsible for a successful 2025 Range Day. Caroline co-ordinated and shanghaied volunteers to make the event special with the help the other directors, members and family. Bows and firearms were provided by members and none are club owned while the the club provided the ammunition, and boy did we go through the ammunition. Also, a light lunch, beverages and snacks were provided in a somewhat quiet area.

Sorry, I forgot to mention, this was all FREE. You did not have to be a member, everyone was invited to our “range home” and as our guests, we provided everything!

This year we hosted over 200 people! and it was great fun. Don’t take my word for it, check out the Google search side panel for comments.

There were experienced shooters and novices who were apprehensive using a firearm. Our experienced hosts at each discipline took the time to review the safety elements and were beside each guest to ensure safety, which we take very very seriously.
