Douglas Lake Cattle Company is appealing BC Supreme Court decision in BC Appeal Court for 2 days Nov 23 2020  – available via ZOOM      https://us02web.zoom.us/j/82919284406?pwd=RzZDYjl5bktSMDF3enBiODVIKy9aQT09    …. Well, it looks like there are no organized events in the near future other than some club house rentals. We will keep the calendar updated when event information comes available. This web site was being updated but some issues occurred and it looks like a restart on the update procedure which will not effect this site. …. Stay safe, all ranges are available when used according to covid19 guide lines.

The WILLIAMS LAKE SPORTSMEN’S ASSOCIATION is a non-profit group dedicated to the preservation of hunting and fishing hobbies. We cherish our shooting sports. We believe in the wise use of our natural resources of fish and wildlife so future generations can enjoy the same experiences as we have today. We believe that adequate habitat has to be maintained so there are harvestable numbers of fish and wildlife

TRUDEAU / BLAIR GIVE IT A NAME

Trudeau and Blair have given their OIC procedure to continue to prohibit firearms a  name “Evergreening”

(But they have not resolved the the theft buy back procedure and you are holding on to a prohibited firearm, what is your liabilty and should we charge a storage fee for that,Trudeau / Blair would.)

This term originates in the tech world where software and devices are automatically updated  by the company without permission or knowledge of the customer in most cases. You want the product? … you accept “evergreening” or go elsewhere. ie: Samsung, Microsoft, Facebook  This website and others received some automatic updates and crashed..

Only trouble is this OIC is not a product, this is over reach by the Liberal Party and subsequently the RCMP firearm bureaucrats.

In a House of Commons Standing Committee on Public Safety (virtual meeting) Bill Blair wants promised to start the “Evergreening” of the weapons prohibition “program” so the RCMP and/or bureaucrat can keep up with the nefarious gun industry to keep Canadians safe “because we know that the gun industry is agile and adept at bringing forward new models and variants in order to try to get around the rules.”

Today you are legal, tomorrow you could be a criminal but you will not know it as the information is on a website that only the police and store owners have access.

“Ignorantia juris non excusat”
(Ignorance of the law is no excuse)

SO WHAT ELSE do they have up their kilt, well a review of Bill Blair’s interviews finds that he repeatedly refers to upping the storage requirements for firearms and touts UK, Australia and New Zealand as examples,a good place to check.  Could it be that Trudeau / Blair will change the requirements and your $ 200 – $300 gun locker from Canadian Tire is no longer adequate? Maybe we can all keep our firearms at the RCMP office and go there and get them when we want, I am sure the RCMP would be okay with that.

Support the Canadian firearm association of your choice, we just want due process, and remember when the election comes, and it is coming.

BROKEN TRUST

“Canadians need to have faith in their government’s honesty and willingness to listen. That is why we committed to set a higher bar for openness and transparency in Ottawa. Government and its information must be open by default. Simply put, it is time to shine more light on government to make sure it remains focused on the people it was created to serve – you.”

– The Right Honourable Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada.
Canada’s Plan on Open Government 2016-2018

The CCFR is a completely different group in that they are a public relations organization that focuses on both educating non-gun owning Canadians on the topic and representing gun owners in a positive light.

South Cariboo Sportsmen Association suffered a catastrophic event during the July 2017 fire at Elephant Hill.

” One of the most destructive wildfires in B.C. history was most likely caused by a person who had been smoking, the province has revealed, though officials say there is not enough evidence to lay charges.”   CBC News ·

This fire eliminated their rifle range and SCSA have been making a gallant effort to reestablish themselves. To that end they have a ” 3 GUN DRAW” at $10.00 per ticket and the draw is on Tuesday December 15 2020. Tickets are limited and selling. If you would like to support a neigbour and possibly win one of the guns you may go to their Facebook page HERE.
Tickets may be purchased by e-transfer or credit card – contact Wayne as per information on Facebook. *** GOOD LUCK ***

FUTURE CLUB EVENTS

Thank you to all those who volunteered in the events and to all those who came out. It was another good year and we hope to repeat it this coming year. If you are able, please come out as a volunteer, participant or both.

JOP for 2020/2021 - Cancelled

Unfortunately there will NOT be a youth JOP program run in Williams Lake this year.

The WLSA Board met Sept 14 and it was decided that with covid-19 restrictions, the popularity of the program and not knowing how to fairly scale it back, and a lack of certified coach volunteers as required by the BC Archery Association, we couldn’t find a way to make it work.
Sorry everyone – hopefully the situation will change but for now, JOP will NOT BE STARTING in October as it used to.

WILD GAME BANQUET 2020/2021 - Cancelled
