On Saturday February 01 2020, Williams Lake Sportsmen’s Association and the Cariboo Archers held a joint annual “Wild Game Banquet”. This is a chance to recognize members in both organizations for the success in hunting/fishing and our youth who have excelled in archery

On this evening 5 young archers were recognized for their skill with a bow.

RECORD SETTERS WELL DONE !!

Setting a BC or Canadian archery record is a milestone event.  When we consider the fact that no other person in HISTORY has ever accomplished the same score, it makes it an exciting event.  Three of the young people we are honouring tonight have (collectively) set 13 such records.  The other two champions are well on their way to setting similar records.

Kylie Sharman

Kylie Sharman won two silver medals and one bronze in the 2019 BC Archery Championships and shot her way to being selected to the BC Winter Games Zone 8 Team.

Isaac Bedford

Isaac Bedford won two silver medals at the 2019 BC Championships, ascended to the BC Winter Games Zone 8 Team and recently shot a perfect 300/300 indoor score

To put the accomplishment into perspective, place a tonnie ($2.00 Canadian coin piece is 28 mm diameter (1.10 inches) ) on edge on a table. Now pace off 18 meters (20 yards –  60 feet) and imagine trying to strike the coin with an arrow 30 times! To make it fair we remove the arrow each time to give you a clear shot. Each time you did you are awarded 10 points, sorry no cash incentive, for a perfect score of 300
